Our environment can have a big impact on how we feel. Now that more and more teleworking is going to be part of our lives, we have to readapt to this new reality and not let being at home means that we can be in the comfort of the couch, because it can affect our productivity and we end up neglecting ourselves totally!
It doesn't have to be a closed space in the house, a specific place like an office. Yes, it must always correspond to your professional needs. It can be in the living room, in the kitchen, in a room or even in a room that nobody uses, as long as it is thought that it is a work space and not for leisure.
Preferably always choose the place that gives you the best natural light, near a window! Natural light is an ally to our motivation! Even with good exterior light, bet also on good general (homogeneous) and punctual artificial lighting (on or near the work table) in case you work late.
The lack or limitation of space cannot be used as an excuse. Be tidy and disciplined in the way you dispose of your material. Do not leave sheets and files lying on the table. Use boxes, folders, baskets and even a small cupboard, under the desk, or a shelf on the wall, to tidy and organize everything. Remember that it is a reflection of your work.
You can and should give your workplace a personal touch to make you feel good. A plant or a vase with flowers, for example, is a simple note, but it refers to the outside, to nature. They help you relax.
Light tones on the walls favor greater visual comfort, making the environment less tiring. For example, if the walls are white, bet on colored objects. Blue calms and favors intellectual activities. Orange encourages creativity and is associated with optimism. We remember that colors influence mood and, in turn, productivity.
