Working from home is the dream of many people, but still a privilege for a few. Having an office organized at home is ideal for those who can work from home, avoiding traffic, rushing and even a way to save money.

Even for those who do not work directly from home, having a professional space is always good, in case you need to resolve any work issue.

The first thing to keep in mind is that you need to separate leisure and work space, so that there is no confusion between home and professional life. At the same time, the space to be created should be able to positively influence your productivity.

Even if you do not have ample spaces at home for your mini office, it is possible to create a functional and pleasant space. How about taking advantage of a vacant spot, a few meters of empty wall or other areas you never thought to explore?

We leave you 5 tips on how to set up a home office. With little space and a lot of creativity, it is possible to have the ideal corner, without compromising the budget.

1. Location

First of all, you should be aware if the space you are going to choose allows a pleasant environment, with moments of silence and tranquility.
If your house has an extra room, such as a useless guest room, it's time to turn it into a home office.

If you live in a small apartment, or have little space at home, it is best to set up your office in a compact way, taking advantage of the corners and corridors.

2. Lighting

When choosing the location, the light must be taken into account. Sunlight helps you stay focused, and even save on your electricity bill. Try to position the table near the window, so that during the day you can work with natural light. Natural light is good, but it probably won't be enough to light up your home office, so LED lamps are a good option as they are more economical.

Another tip is to place lamps or table lamps instead of wall lights. These lights can provide enough brightness and leave the room well lit. Opt for white light bulbs, which make the space lighter and more relaxing.

3. Suitable furniture

Nowadays, the computer is the main work tool, so it will be important to consider, at a minimum, a workbench and a chair or bench at compatible heights. Other than that, it is interesting to have some drawer blocks, shelves, shelves and / or storage niches nearby.

The most important thing is to make the environment almost standardized in relation to the rest of the house. Furniture with many curves, for example, is not so functional, as it prevents future restructuring and use of the same environment in other ways. At the same time, they make the environment very flashy, which generates distractions that hinder performance at work. Therefore, it opts for simple lines and functional objects.

4. Walls

When space is scarce, using the walls is a good option. Consider exploring the vertical space with shelves that will provide the necessary flexibility for the organization.

5. Color

When decorating the room, think about the colors and the power they have over the space and in front of your focus. It takes into account that:

  • The light colors give a feeling of greater space and tranquility. You can even put strong colors like blue, lilac, green ... but always in lighter shades;
  • Vibrant colors stimulate creativity;
  • Dark tones can be tiring for the eyes at work;
  • The ideal is to bet on the contrast between the colors of the walls and the furniture. Mirrors are also a good bet, as they help to give a sense of depth to the environment. In addition, by reflecting natural light, they increase clarity.
