We often forget that it exists, but the truth is that it makes all the difference. It helps to outline spaces, to make them more or less comfortable, ideal or not to work, read or sleep.
If we know how to bet on the right light for each room, we can make everyday tasks easier, make the house more welcoming and increase the feeling of space and enhance furniture or decorative elements with more personality.
The first piece of advice is to keep in mind that not all rooms in the house perform the same function or have the same layout.
Natural light is ideal for any home, as of all types of light it is the most comfortable for humans. Often, and when it is not possible to change the spans of the house (doors and windows), the ideal is to take advantage of natural light by painting the walls in white or in light tones, so the rays of light reflect in greater quantity making the brightest space.
Mirrors also help to reflect light, so they are an option to prolong natural light at home.
You should always choose the LED option. Low consumption, durability and ecological impact make LED lamps the ideal option for your home.
You must choose the light intensity and color temperature. For ambient light, living and resting spaces, you should choose yellow lamps. On the other hand, for work spaces or those that require more light, you should choose white lamps.
The key is indirect, powerful lighting that avoids dark corners or shaded areas, as they make spaces look smaller than they really are - the ambient light must be warm. The feeling of spaciousness and luminosity can be increased thanks to other diffused lights and floor lamps with tinted shadows, correctly oriented and highlighting the strategic points of the room.
The single central light should be avoided in the rooms. It is a night space, so the tones do not necessarily need to be warm. At the foot of the side table, on the side of the bed, it installs direct lighting for reading.
As this division is one of the main protagonists of a house, it is important to invest in functional, punctual and necessary lighting to carry out daily activities. For this, in addition to general lighting, it is suggested to use adjustable spotlights that can also be used to illuminate tall cabinets. Direct lighting on the workbenches is also essential.
The ideal is to have technical lighting as a base and accompany it with softer and more relaxing lights.
They are the only rooms in the house for which general lighting directly from the ceiling is recommended.
