Christmas decorations can reach unimaginable figures when the desire is to adorn with ostentation.
An example of this is a hotel on the Costa del Sol in Spain that featured the most expensive Christmas tree in the world, valued at 14.1 million euros.
The Christmas tree at the Kempinski Hotel Bahia, near Marbella, Spain, is perhaps the most expensive Christmas tree in the world. Created by couture designer Debbie Wingham, this tree is heavily decorated with diamonds that appear in a profusion of white, red, rose and black colors. Already the jewels that compose it are of very luxurious brands, like Bulgari, Cartier, Van Cleef & Arpels and Chanel.
The tree is decorated with diamonds, gems, jewels, gold balls and 3D printed chocolate peacocks and edible ostrich eggs.
Many of the tree's props are inspired by Art Deco and take the form of other luxury products such as perfume bottles, luxury bags and martini glasses. Digital artist Gary James McQueen and resin artist Debra Frances Bean also participated in the creation of the tree.
Overall, the tree is valued at 14.1 million euros. The current Guinness World Record holder for the most expensive Christmas tree in the world is the Emirates Palace hotel in Abu Dhabi. In 2010, the hotel decorated a tree with bracelets, necklaces and watches worth 10 million euros, which makes Kempinski Hotel Bahia a very strong candidate for the new title.
