Like many scary costumes and the famous trick or treat, Halloween party decor is one of the funniest elements for all ages!
Halloween parties have a well-defined color palette. The traditional Halloween colors are orange, black, purple and white – but nothing prevents you from getting away from the traditional and using other colors in the decoration elements! In this case, investing in some elements in yellow, red and even green can be a good option. The suggestion is to invest in balloons, cups and mugs, plates, cutlery, trays, tablecloths and even paper decorations in these colors.
In the United States, children not only dress up but also go out and go to neighbors saying the phrase “trick or treat” (in English). looking for treats.
This is one of the main traditions of the party, and, as a result, adults also join in the fun by placing candy in their houses to distribute. So don't forget to fill the Halloween party with lots of sweets so that here in Portugal you don't miss this festivity.
Lighting is also an important part of the Halloween party decor! As this type of event usually takes place at night, it is necessary to light the party space without making it too bright.
So, the ideal is to opt for a party with low lighting, with lights a little more intense in strategic places such as: bar, sweets tables and stage (if any). To reproduce all this, you can use colored or neon lamps, candles (there are candles that work on batteries, to avoid accidents).
Another easier and more fun way to develop party decorations is from typical Halloween objects and elements. They can be placed on the ceiling, walls, tables and in strategic locations.
• Cobwebs (made from cotton, gauze or synthetic fabric);
• Pumpkin-shaped buckets and baskets;
• Skulls, skeletons and witches;
• Plastic (or paper) bats, spiders and cockroaches, which can be glued to the wall;
• Pumpkin sculptures (also known as Jack O’Lantern);
• Sheets torn and stained with red paint.
Yes, drinks are also part of Halloween. In addition to traditional drinks – such as beers, soft drinks – the big tip here is to invest in personalized drinks. You can serve shots in syringes, for example.
Do it yourself:
Ingredients:
289 ml of strawberry vodka
30 ml of lemon juice
160 ml Bailey's Irish Cream liqueur (can be substituted for peach liqueur)
gooseberry syrup
Method of preparation:
Add the vodka (very cold) in a shaker with the lemon juice and shake well. Then, dispense the drink into 8 shot glasses, without filling to the top. Then add a little of the chosen liqueur and watch the magic happen: due to the different densities and the lemon juice, the liqueur ends up coagulating and does not mix with the rest of the drink, forming a kind of “floating brain”.
Finish the drink by dripping a little gooseberry to give the appearance of blood.
Serve the guests and enjoy!
