So take this opportunity to pack your bags, put on your most fun masks and discover one of the destinations that Contrary to the old saying, in Alcobaça, carnival is not three days, but five. The city has always celebrated this time of year, not forgetting the parades and floats that, even if not very elaborate, filled the streets of Rossio with magic. Although it was a popular and "bairrista" entrudo, the truth is that, for some time, the Corsicans did not mobilize the "people" of the region. Only children were dedicated to this cause.
Nowadays, the Alcobaça entrudo celebrations take place, basically, at night in a giant tent installed next to the monastery. Carnival starts with a dance dedicated to the senior population, followed by the procession that brings together hundreds of children, the evenings being animated by Samba Engineers.
"Whoever passes through Alcobaça, does not pass without returning".
