Sustainability is the word that must increasingly be present in our vocabulary.

Locally and globally it is very important, from the growing demand for natural resources, to economic disparities and climate change, several challenges and risks are now faced.

Fortunately, people are now more aware of this and every day new sustainable options appear on the market to replace products that are harmful to the environment.

Today, we are talking about lamps made from red cabbage - the Veggie Lights.

The creation of the Indian designer Vaidehi Thakkar results from the transformation of vegetables into fiber, in a kind of paper.

In the Veggie Lights process, the red cabbage leaves are immersed in a water solution with a substance that preserves the color of the vegetable and makes its veins stand out. They are then dried at high temperatures so that the liquid mixture evaporates completely. Finally, just mold the leaf and the dome of the lamp is ready.

Over time, the leaf will come apart, however it is enough to replace it without great costs, since the base of the lamp remains intact.

What do you think of this idea?
