Having a beautiful garden in the summer requires some special care due to the hot and dry climate.
Here are 5 tips to help you have a lush garden during this season:
Increase watering frequency in summer as plants need more water due to accelerated evaporation. Water in the early morning or late afternoon to prevent excessive evaporation and allow water to be absorbed by the roots.
Use “mulch” (such as bark or straw) around the plants to help retain soil moisture, reduce evaporation and prevent weed growth.
Choose plants that are heat and drought tolerant, such as cacti and local plants. They are adapted to hot weather and require less water.
Fornecer nutrientes adequados às plantas é essencial. Usa fertilizantes de liberação lenta ou fertilizantes orgânicos para nutrir o solo e as plantas ao longo do tempo. Evita adubar em excesso, pois isso pode queimar as raízes.
Properly prune plants to promote healthy growth and encourage flowering. Removes dry, dead or diseased plant parts to maintain garden vitality.
