Portugal is the best destination in Europe for the fourth time and wins 21 ‘Oscars’ from tourism

The city of Porto won the award for Best City Break Destination in Europe, Lisbon was distinguished as the Best European Cruise Destination and the Algarve is again the Best Beach Destination in Europe, and in the Azores they were distinguished as the Best Tourism Destination Adventure, in a total of 21 prizes awarded to Portugal in the various categories.

“It is with particular pride that we received this award, in this atypical year”, stated the Secretary of State for Tourism, Rita Marques.

“It is yet another proof of international confidence in our destiny and an acknowledgment that Portugal's attributes remain intact and ready to be discovered by all those who wish to visit us, always respecting the rules defined by the authorities. Health, protection and trust are unquestionable synonyms of the national tourist offer ”, he added.

For the world edition of these awards the voting has already ended and the results will be known on November 27th.
