House in Barcelos wins international architecture award in Los Angeles

A contemporary house with patio in the rural parish of Galegos Santa Maria, in Barcelos was distinguished with an Honorable Mention at the International Design Awards - IDA 2020, in the Architecture category, in Los Angeles, in the United States of America, it was announced today.

The architecture is in charge of Raulino Silva, a specialist in single-family housing, usually located on isolated land all over the northernmost region of Portugal, and winner of several international awards, such as the IF Design Awards, the Iconic Awards and the International Architecture Awards promoted by The Chicago Athenaeum Museum.

At 39, the architect trained at the Escola Superior Artística do Porto and with his own atletier in Vila do Conde since 2011, has already received a medal of merit from that city for his architectural practice, and was considered as one of the best young European architects when he won the Europe 40 Under 40 Awards from The European Centrefor Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies.
