Elevated walkway, next to the treetops in Serralves
Back to architecture, we present the Serralves footbridge, strategically relevant, the route was created at a high level vis-à-vis the ground, next to the treetops. This allows an impressive experience of observation and study of the Biodiversity of Serralves Park.
The Serralves Foundation, in collaboration with the Portuguese State Environment Fund, promoted the construction of a "Treetop Walk" at the Foundation Park.
The implementation of this project, designed by Architect Carlos Castanheira in collaboration with Architect Álvaro Siza, will have a strong impact in terms of education for environmental conservation and protection of biodiversity, and will bring new opportunities for connection with science.
The construction of this elevated path at the level of the treetops, which will allow an impressive experience of observation and study of the fauna and flora of Serralves, is also a way to celebrate the Serralves Park and the diverse activities that are developed there annually.
