São João de Braga will be back in 2021!

Theatro Circo is the room chosen to host the fifth edition of the Gala Sanjoanina, which will feature the participation of Ana Bacalhau, and the show Banquete de David, an initiative promoted by the Circuit - Educational Service Braga Media Arts.

With a solid ticket office, given that the amount raised from ticket sales will revert to the social fund constituted by the São João de Braga Festival Association (AFSJB), the Gala Sanjoanina will return to the iconic Braga room, on the 19th of June, at 9:30 pm, with the aim of honoring entities, figures and associations linked to São João de Braga. In a different register from the usual, tradition and modernity will be combined in a ceremony with the presence of the singer Ana Bacalhau, responsible for closing the event, with the traditional sounds that inspire her songs and projects.

The show promoted by the Circuito - Educational Service Braga Media Arts, “David's Banquet”, is an original and collaborative creation, which aims to unite the universe of Media Arts with the popular tradition of the São João de Braga Festivals. The project is initiated through the recording of Minho polyphonies, around the figure of São João, with the participation of Rusga de S. Vicente, Mulheres do Minho and GFUM - Folkloric Group of the University of Minho, in a show on stage that will be accompanied musically by ODE - Electronic Devices Orchestra.

Tickets for both shows are now available at a cost of five euros, and you can purchase them at Theatro Circo ticket offices or at theatrocirco.com.

It is recalled that the Social Fund Sanjoanino was created, by the entity responsible for the organization of city parties, in 2019, with the aim of supporting social causes and contributing to the improvement of the living conditions of the most needy people, collaborating in decision-making and implementing measures to combat and eradicate poverty.
